Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia. Hey do you have larger versions of the images on Cuillin Hills they are really fantastic. We can put a link in the article to a larger version of the pictures if you have them. Mintguy 10:25, 21 Aug 2003 (UTC)
- One other point I've just noticed. Please see Wikipedia:Image_use_policy You've uploaded them as .gif. We prefer .jpg for several reasons, particularly as .jpgs compress to a much smaller size. I should also point you in the direction of Wikipedia:Welcome, newcomers and mention that if you have any general questions you should raise them at Wikipedia:Village pump. I just saw your contributions for Buachaille Etive Mor and Curved Ridge. However both more look like they are intended for a TravelGuide (or even a mountaineering guide), but not for an encyclopedia - so maybe you should consider to take a look at Wikitravel, an independent Wiki project to built a free travel guide. I reworked Buachaille Etive Mor (as far as I could with just google informations) to make it more fit here, however I don't think the Curved Ridge can be made fit here. andy 19:29, 1 Sep 2003 (UTC)
- You wrote: I am so new to Wikipedia (one week) I shall take your word on the house style
- Don't worry, everyone here was a newbie once and made mistakes then, and being an oldtimer here is no guarantee to make no mistakes any more. And getting taken away when writing about a favourite topic is natural - guess why we have so many things about The Simpsons or similar stuff here. Thus just write a bit less enthusiastic and give more facts, then you will create good encyclopedaeic articles about the scottish highlands - especially with your great landscape photos. andy 12:30, 2 Sep 2003 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Cuillin.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Cuillin.JPG. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Aggy.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Aggy.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. bluemask 16:59, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: vandalism to Urinary bladder
Regarding this message on my talk page:
on the urinary bladder page the only thing i did was add a link to urodynamics. i note from the history that some character unknown had some really childish things to say which you rightly took out; but it certainly was not me. how did it come about that you thought it was me?
I checked and I warned an IP address over that (I checked it before typing this), but I never did suggest that you did anything. Can you be more specific? Nwwaew(My talk page) 20:40, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Part 2 Message Response
I am afraid I can't reproduce the warning, but when I logged in last night at home (currently at work) there was a new message from yourself with the vandalism stuff and warning about me getting removed from Wikipedia. Where do the old messages go to ? I accept your insistence that it was some IP # that you were aggrieved with
-
- It would be in your page history- see here. If you have certain internet providers, your IP changes regularly, so you may have gotten an IP that had previously vandalized Wikipedia. Nwwaew(My talk page) 11:27, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Sta greg norman.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Sta greg norman.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:09, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hello, can you upload that image to Commons? I would love to use it in the German Wikipedia for de:Old Course. -- ulim, 21:34, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:060.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:060.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Dream out loud (talk) 16:39, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
