Regrettably, as amazing a resource and community this is, Wikipedia is also critically flawed, and as a result my contributions will decline. As it grows it only becomes larger, more complex and less likely to adapt. The collected information is, however, often very useful, interesting and informative, but, as with any "book", the binding is just as important to its ultimate survival.

The following points, and proceeding and following text, are not intended to be comprehensive, or well rounded, but simply talking (not argumentative) points.

  • Wikipedia is not paper, but it is just a bunch of linked documents
  • Wikipedia is not trivia, actually it is, of which it admits to being, dependent only on "interest" and "importance" of an article.. review Wikipedia:Trivia.. a determination of what articles are trivia is based on a vote for deletion.. a vote is subjectively based on a 50%+ determination for an article having zero interest OR (not AND) zero importance factors.. while people may attempt to be objective, there are factors of knowledge/understanding error and voter turnout.. clearly there is an issue to be worked out, but until then votes needless destroy aspects of its progression.. furthermore, it is abundantly clear that users do not remain versed in the current accepted criteria, and vote on false pretenses.
  • Deletions are handed out as if they added notches to proverbial belts, and are simply too easy to approve without a defensive backing of users. At the same time, it is far to easy to incorrectly contribute or destroy information maliciously.
  • Wikipedia is subjective, with evolution based on popular belief or opinion or understanding
  • Wikipedia suggests that it is completely open, but remains dictated by an administrative userbase and higher power, leaving many voices unheard
  • blah blah it has just got a lot of problems and anybody who argues that is working against the evolution that is important to this creation.

This does not belittle the amazing progress made, despite any flaws..

but, as our own human race shows,

perfection is impossible to attain.. but that isn't an excuse for flaws.
