Usage

On the user's talk page, please post:

{{subst:warn|VandalizedPageName}} --~~~~

Important: Please do not edit this template for every notice you want to put up, but use the code provided above and fill in the necessary information.

Description

This template is a hybrid of {{blatantvandal}}, {{test}}, and {{welcome}}. This is created for use as a first warning on talk pages of new or unregistered users in the case that there are no previous warnings or welcomes on that page, unless the warnings or welcomes were placed by a bot. If the vandalism is great enough, consider using {{test4im}} instead, as that is a more specific warning. Please post any comments or suggestions on the talk page.

Template usage notes
  • See documentation.
  • Most test(n) templates take a single optional parameter: the name of the page to which the template applies. If provided, this page will be cited in the warning.
  • test5 optionally takes two parameters:
    1. The first is the duration of the block (with "temporarily blocked" as the default if a specific period is not provided).
    2. The second is the name of the page to which the template applies. If provided, this page will be cited in the warning.
  • Please refer to the index of test templates before using any template on user talk pages to warn a user. Applying the best template available for your purpose may help reduce confusion from the message you are sending.
  • Please remember to substitute the template—use {{subst:Warn}} rather than {{Warn}}.
