The David L. Robbins who wrote this book was born in 1954 in Richmond, VA.
The David L. Robbins cited was born in 1950 in PA.

[edit] True story
Since the story the novel is based on is most likely a piece of Soviet propaganda (ie. a complete fabrication), I changed the "this book is based on a true story" line to more accurately reflect what's the case here. See the Heinz Thorvald article (this name was misspelled in the article for some reason, so the old link didn't work).
Oh, and what's with the excessive amount of sources? This article is pretty much a stub. Removing most of them. Tchernobog (talk) 11:14, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
I am going to change the article to reflect that it is based on a true story. Unless some body can prove that vasily zaytsev, the Battle of Stalingrad, Snipers, and World War II are not real or never happened. While the events in the novel may not be true, no one should expect that from a novel based on a true story, as opposed to a true story.Nukeguy04 (talk) 20:57, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
