On April 9, 1968, Raiford was arrested with force and arms by the Greensboro Police Department for violated a North Carolina Stated-mandated curfew. The Affadavit states: "The Undersigned Affadavit, being duly sworn, deposes and says that the above named defendant [Conrad Laurel Raiford], on or about the 9th day of April, 1968, with force and arms, at and in Guilford County, except High Point, Deep River and Jamestown townships, did unlawfully and willfully be off his own premises at Gillespie and Everitt Streets, Greensboro, North Carolina, at 8:15 p.m. in violation of the curfew placed upon the City of Greensboro, North Carolina, issued by Proclamation April 6, 1968, pursuant to Section 13-22 of the Greensboro City Code of Ordinances as amended."
