Wanstead and Woodford was a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. Wanstead and Woodford is situated in what is now the London Electoral Region.
In a unique tribute to Sir Winston Churchill his Woodford constituency was renamed on his retirement in 1964. It became Wanstead and Woodford although the only boundary changes reflected minor alterations to the Municipal Borough of Wanstead and Woodford since the last general redistribution of parliamentary seats in 1955. The pre and post 1964 seats comprised the whole Municipal Borough, within its 1955 and 1964 boundaries respectively.
In 1965 the area was transferred, for administrative purposes, from the county of Essex to Greater London and the London Borough of Redbridge.
