Wanning

Wanning (simplified Chinese: 万宁; traditional Chinese: 萬寧; pinyin: Wànníng) is a county-level city in SE Hainan province, China, with an estimated population of 65,871 (2006).

Wanning lies on the east of the island and administers many small towns. It has promoted from a county to a city in August 5, 1996.

The city of Wanning produces coffee, pepper, rubber, rice, banana, sugarcane, and others.

Tourism plays a vital role in the city. It is famous for its tropical scenery, lies approximately half an hour's drive from the beach, and has five-star hotels.

Wanning is hot throughout the year. Sometimes it is a little cold in with temperature of 5 to 8 degrees Celsius.
