Wani is a popular name used among the Nilo-Hamids group in Bahr El Jebel region along the River Nile in Southern Sudan ( among the Bari people,, who speaks Bari language) meaning the third born child.(Jayjan)meaing the rain or the second child which born after a girl. However some some tribal clans like the Kuku of Kajo Keji, the Kakwa of Yei, the Madi of Nimule, the Lulubo of Ngangala do not describe the same as their counterparts. They actually give this name according to the grandparents chain.
