[edit] Founding of the Min Kingdom
Wang Shenzhi's father was named Surveillance Commissioner of Fujian by the Tang court in 892. Wang Shenzhi became military governor and Prince of Min 909 after the fall of the Tang Dynasty.
[edit] Administration
As Min was a poor region, Wang Shenzhi tried to attract able administrators and enact polities that would stimulate development along the rugged, coastal region. They constructed an efficient bureaucracy, tax system and economical directives. His efforts also aided later maritime trade.
[edit] Death and Succession
Wang Shenzhi died in 925. He was succeeded by his son Wang Yanhan, who declared himself the Emperor of Min and posthumously designed his father as Min Taizu (founding emperor). However, this reign saw a rebellion that opened the way to absorption into the Southern Tang in 945.
