[edit] Development
Wanamaker and its surrounding areas are seeing dense suburban land development from the outward expansion of Indianapolis. The developments have enveloped large amounts of farmland in the region. This is due to developers paying hefty amounts of money to local farmers for their land. This region is know historically as a rural area. There have been civic efforts to maintain a rural atmosphere in the area.[1]
Some locals find the recent development to be burdensome because of increased property taxes to fund public school development.

Trophies are awarded to the top three in each official car class and special awards are presented for various achievements.[2]
