WANS (1280 AM) is a radio station located in Anderson, South Carolina. The station is licensed by the FCC to broadcast with 5 kW. during the daytime and 1 kW. directional at night.

WANS 1280 AM has been in existence since June 1st, 1949. For many years, it was a top-rated top 40 station. Willis H. was a long-time disc jockey on the station. WANS 1280 AM now has a sports talk format. It is the sister station to WRIX AM/FM.
For many years, WANS-FM 107.3 FM was a 100,000 Watt FM Top 40 station. In the early 1990s, the FM station was sold and the call letters were changed.
WANS-1280 AM operates 24 hours a day. Their current format is Sports/Sports Talk/Live Sporting Events. They carry all Anderson Joes Baseball games live along with many games of different sports from Anderson University and football games from Coastal Carolina University. They offer a live local talk show in the afternoons as well called "White Noise". They also air all of the Westside High School Ram football games LIVE on Friday Nights in the fall.
