Parka are a Scottish band currently signed to Jeepster Records in London. The current members of the band are Matt Thomson (lead vocals, guitar), Neil Johnson (drums), Ian Alexander (bass) and Mark Hedges (keyboard). The band are noted for their catchy riffs and energetic live performances.

Matt Thomson found the various members of Parka through music shops, online and through recommendations from friends. The band came together in February 2005, and began playing live shows together in Glasgow. [citation needed] The band signed their first record deal with London-based independent label Jeepster Records in 2007

In 2006 Parka released their first single, Disco Dancer, through Worst Case Scenario Records, exclusively in 7" format. The disc was a minor hit in the UK, and the band were subsequently signed by Jeepster Records.
Parka's first disc for Jeepster, If You Wanna?, was released on May 7th, 2007 on CD and limited edition yellow vinyl. The song peaked at no. 11 on the BBC indie charts. Parka's second Jeepster single, released on January 7th, 2008, was a re-recorded version of Disco Dancer, also released on CD and limited edition coloured vinyl. The re-release of Disco Dancer was the band's biggest hit to date, entering the BBC indie charts at no. 3.
Parka's next single will be the live favourite Better Anyway, planned for release on April 21, 2008. It will be available as a CD single and limited edition coloured vinyl.
Park's debut album, entitled Attack of the Hundred Yard Hardman, is to be released on May 5th (UK)
