The Wambola, also known as Whamola, is a one-stringed instrument resembling an upright bass. It has a single string and is played with a drumstick. Instead of tuners or a headstock, the string is clamped onto a wooden handle and is pulled down to create a note.
Les Claypool of Primus is the founding father of the wambola and has used it in many live events with the band Primus and also with shows featuring Buckethead.
