WAMD is a commercial AM radio station station broadcasting on 970 kHz based in Aberdeen, MD. The station is owned by First Broadcasting. Reception for WAMD is northern Harford County. The station's radio format is predominantly oldies. It also broadcasts Aberdeen IronBirds baseball games and it is an affiliate of the Maryland Terps radio network. Also on WAMD every Tuesday night from 6-8 is "The Word On The Street" with host Warren Monks.

Sale of the station to Salem Broadcasting has been announced[1]. Salem Broadcasting has applied to reduce daytime power from 500 watts to 300 watts, to enable Salem owned WWDJ in the New York City area to increase its daytime power from 5 Kw to 50 Kw.[2]
