Walton St Mary Church of England Primary School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Walton St Mary Church of England Primary School is a Church of England primary school situated in the Walton area of Liverpool, Merseyside, England.
It is perhaps most notable for being the school which the James Bulger killers attended at the time of the crime in February 1993. Robert Thompson and Jon Venables were both in their final year at the school when they committed the crime, and were the youngest people in England and Wales to have been convicted of murder when they were found guilty later in the year, when only 11 years old.
The school returned to the spotlight in the autumn of 2002 when messages on the school's Friends Reunited page were left by a member claiming to be Robert Thompson, informing readers that he had "left suddenly after an unfortunate incident involving a two-year-old boy" and was now "building a new life in another part of the country".
The school will be closing at the end of the 2007-2008 school year.
