Walther J. Jacobs-Stutenpreis

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Walther J. Jacobs-Stutenpreis is a Group 3 flat horse race in Germany for three-year-old and above thoroughbred fillies and mares. It is run over a distance of 2,200 metres (approximately 1 mile 3 furlongs) at Bremen Racecourse, Bremen in August.

Formerly known as the Grosser Stutenpreis von Bremen, the race attained Group 3 status in 2004 and was given its present title in 2005. This was in memory of Walther J. Jacobs (1907-1998), a leading German racehorse breeder and founder of the stud farm Gestüt Fährhof.
