[edit] History
Walter Panas high school has made many changes through the years. There is a new turf athletic field and a new track. New metal bleachers for spectators have replaced wooden stands.
There has been a rivalry between the two high schools in the district, Lakeland High School and Walter Panas High School. This rivalry has been very important between both schools in epically in the sports aseptic. Both schools have a homecoming football games were the two schools battle it out for pride. Since there is one middle school in the district and two high schools the rivalry between the schools is less than when there was Lakeland Middle School (which is now the new Van Cortlandtville Elementary school).
