Walter Faxon

Walter Faxon (1848–1920) was an American ornithologist and carcinologist. He was born on 1848-02-04 at Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, where he grew up. His brother Charles Faxon was a botanist. He received three degrees from Harvard University. One of his greater ornithological achievements was the demonstration that Brewster's Warbler is a hybrid.
