The Walt Whitman House is a historic building in Camden, New Jersey known to have been one of the last residences[2] of famed American poet Walt Whitman, in his declining years before his death. It was listed in the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Historic Preservation Office in 1971 (ID# 934)[3], and the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1966 (NR reference #: 66000461)[4]. The surrounding area was designated in 1970 as the Walt Whitman Neighborhood (ID# 935)[3] within the state, and the NRHP in 1978 (NR reference #: 78001752)[4].
