Walsingham House School

Walsingham House School is a private girls' school located in a former palace of the Maharajah of Kutch in South Mumbai, India.[1] [2]

The school is managed by the Mittal Group, and is affiliated to the ICSE.[3]

The school was founded in 1940 by Mrs. Tree and Mrs. Adcock at Oomer Park. Mrs. Tree was the first school principal. In 1950 it moved to Breach Candy, and in 1965 it moved to its current premises.[4]

The school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, such as basketball, badminton, volleyball, table-tennis, athletics, long-jump, throwball, discuss, javelin, tug-of-war and dance.

It also has events like debates, dramatics, interhouse quizzes, interhouse elocutions etc.

The current principal is Mrs Bindu Mittal, who has held that position since 1980.[5] The ratio of teachers to students is one of the highest in Mumbai.[citation needed]
