Walkerston, Queensland

Walkerston is a town in central Queensland, Australia. The town is situated on the Peak Downs Highway 15 kilometres south-west of Mackay. Walkerston has an approximate population of 4000 . Walkerston straddles Bakers Creek for about 3 km.

The town boasts 2 primary schools, a post office, two pubs and a supermarket. It is also the hometown of the Buddhist author Angulimalo
