Wali Rainer (born April 19, 1977 in Rockingham, North Carolina) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League. Rainer was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 1999 NFL Draft. He had a great rookie year in 1999 posting 107 tackles. In 2002 he went to the Jacksonville Jaguars and made 71 tackles. In 2003 he signed with the Detroit Lions where he spent 2003-2005 making a disappointing 69 tackles in three years. In 2006 he signed with the Texans but was injured and placed on the injured reserve ending his 2006 season.
