Waldwic, also known as the William M. Spencer, III, House, was built in 1840 and renovated in the Carpenter Gothic style in 1852.[1] It is a historic plantation house located on the west side of Alabama Highway 69, south of Gallion in Hale County, Alabama in the United States. On July 22, 1994, Waldwic, including one of its outbuildings, was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It was part of the Plantation Houses of the Alabama Canebrake and their Associated Outbuildings multiple property submission.[3] Waldwic is one of only a few examples of residential Gothic Revival architecture remaining in Alabama.[1]
