Waldo Vila Gilabert

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Waldo Vila Gilabert (Antibes (France), 1978), Waldo, is a Valencian pilotari playing as the rest in the Valencian pilota variant Raspall. He has been a member of the Valencian Pilota Squad and is a coach for the many Valencian Pilota Federation schools.

In 2001, once Waldo proved his absolute rule on the raspall, he turned to play a very different variety, Escala i corda. But he didn't get the expected results and came back to his original modality.

Waldo's career is plagued by lesions. Not only he was operated on his right hand because of lack of blood circulation caused by the tough strokes of the vaqueta ball, in April 2006 Waldo was removed a benign tumor on the vertebral column. In July 2007 he recuperated and finally came back to the trinquets.
