Waldemar Kobus

Waldemar Kobus (1966) is a German actor born in Poland.
From 1988 till 1991 he was following an acting school called Otto-Falckenberg-Schule in München. From that time he played in several theatreplays in Frankfurt, Bochum, Stuttgart, Zürich, Wien and Köln. He's acting in Tv-shows since the early 90's. Since about 2001 people are starting to recognize him in movies and Tv-shows. He's well-known for his role in the German comedy show Alles Atze, where he plays the police officer 'Viktor Schimanek'. His international break-through was his 'SS-officer Günther Franken' role in the movie Zwartboek (Black Book) from the Dutch director: Paul Verhoeven.
In 2007 he spoke the voice of the Yeti in the animation movie Lissi und der wilde Kaiser. He also played in the movie Speed Racer from the brothers Andy and Larry Wachowski. In the movie Valkyrie (with Tom Cruise) he plays the police-chef of Berlin. In October 2008 he starring in the WWII movie Miracle at St. Anna from the director Spike Lee
Besides being an actor, he's also a singer. He sings at the Kölner Karneval. He makes/sings songs with the composers Klaus Fehling and Uli Winters.
Waldemar Kobus is married to the German actress Traute Hoess. Together they live in Bochum.
