From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Walbrook Rowing Club is an amateur rowing club, on the River Thames in England. It is situated at on the Middlesex bank of the Thames just above Teddington Lock at Trowlock Island, Teddington. It is the first non-tidal club on one of the longest and calmest stretches of rowing water in the UK.
The rowing club was originally established in 1961 for BP employees, hence the club colours of green, yellow and black. In 1993, Walbrook joined with the Royal Canoe Club, The Skiff Club and Kingston Royals Dragon Boat Racing Club, to become the rowing section of 'Walbrook and Royal Canoe Club (RCC)'. It is now an open club and members of Walbrook RC also become members of the RCC and have access to all the facilities on the site.
