[edit] Welcome
Hello, Walterk29, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! [edit] Changes on Chappelle's Show page
Hi...I just wanted to tell you that I didn't purposefully revert all the edits on the Chappelle page. I just copied and pasted the one line (about how the Sex, Snacks, and Television skit was based on Paris Hilton) back into the article. I might have pushed a wrong button or copied more than I had desired in my haste (I was rushing because I had to be somewhere). I just wanted to let you know that I didn't mean to do this and I am already aware that I only need to change the edit that I want to change (which is what I meant to do in the first place). If you see my user page, you can see that I've been editing at Wikipedia for years but I'm new at the user thing. Sorry about this whole deal. Doodoobutter 16:43, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:AssadBriefing.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:AssadBriefing.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Possibly unfree Image:IkeaRestaurant.jpg
An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:IkeaRestaurant.jpg, has been listed at
Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. Please go to its page for more information if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

- Hi, I re added again the IKEA restaurant image on Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images, if it doesn't belong there, let an admin or the person who listed it remove it. But looking at the image, you released the image under the cc-by-sa 2.5 license. If so, you can't state that only Wikipedia can use it. If you release it under that license any one can use it. If you don't mean to release the image under that license, than the image will have to be deleted since 'only wikipedia' images are not allowed. Cheers, Garion96 (talk) 00:03, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- This sentence you added I hereby grant unrestricted use on Wikipedia only goes against the cc-by-sa license. If you want only on wikipedia, than the image is unfree and will be deleted. Although technically you released the image under that license and we can ignore that sentence. But if you want to have that image deleted, I don't see a problem. Garion96 (talk) 00:16, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- Than I don't see why the image can't go to Commons. The cc-by-sa is good enough for all wikimedia projects. If I were you I would just remove the unrestricted use on wikipedia only. It doesn't matter that much and it helps from people misunderstanding, like obviously happened a few times. :) Garion96 (talk) 00:27, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Emma Watson Drinking
I read the biographies of living persons page. I am still wondering what was wrong with the source, though. I can cite more, the pictures appeared on all sorts of blogs and other websites which track the date that you post stuff (obviously) and they are accurate. I don't say she was underage drinking, I said there were pictures on the internet of her drinking when she was 15. That's an accurate, correct statement based on evidence. Let me know where I'm in the wrong here. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by IanBoyd3 (talk • contribs) 17:33, 26 July 2007 (UTC).
- That sort of clarifies it, but she is very obviously drinking. There is a picture of her tipping the bottle up and drinking. Regardless, the statement that there are pictures of her holding alcohol bottles when she is 15 is factual. But fine, I'll give it up. It just seems like relevant information that would be found interesting. At least more informative than "she likes toast." Plus, above all, it's true, and I thought that was the point here. I'll step down though, I'm new here.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by IanBoyd3 (talk • contribs) 22:38, 26 July 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:HamriAlAssad.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:HamriAlAssad.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 16:13, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Harry Potter roll-call
Hi there. Your username is listed on the WikiProject Harry Potter participants list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active on the project. Your name has therefore been moved to a "potentially inactive" list. If you still consider yourself an active WikiProject Harry Potter editor, please move your name from the Potentially inactive list to the Active Contributors list. You may also wish to add {{User WP Harry Potter}}
to your userpage, if you haven't done so already. Conversely, if you do not wish to be considered a member of the WikiProject, leave your name where it is and it will be moved to the Inactive Contributors section. If you wish to make a clean break with the Project you may move your name to the Known to have left section. Many thanks.

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:TheChamp 1979.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:TheChamp 1979.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:06, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 24 WikiProject
Hello there, I see you are on the 24 WikiProject. It's been quite dead for some time now, and me personally, I intend to revive it. I considered maybe even a 24 Portal, i see the project founder hasn't been on Wikipedia for nearly a year. What are your thoughts on the project? Are you still interested in it? And would you help revive it? Let me know, I would intend to help out a lot, maybe "take over" the founders position, well not take over, but possibly help lead the project? Was just a thought and I wanted your input. My talk page would be the best place. Cheers, Steve Crossin (talk) (anon talk) 19:46, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Note, the above message is what Steve Crossin asked me to say to you. The Helpful One (Review) 18:48, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
