[edit] Proposed deletion

This page should not be deleted because it forms part of a series: T. Wheatley 1867-1874, Dugald Drummond 1875-1882, Matthew Holmes 1882-1903,William P. Reid 1903-1919, W. Chalmers 1919-1922. Biscuittin (talk) 09:04, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

I believe that this article should not be considered in isolation. Are Chief Mechanical Engineers of pre-grouping British railways (as a class) notable or not? I would argue that they are notable and that stub articles about them should remain, so that people have the opportunity to expand them. Biscuittin (talk) 11:25, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Yes, but the way to et this firmly established is to expand them at least a little yourself. You should summarize the information from your source a little. Are there any published non-web sources on this railroad--you will want to add them also. the practice here, good or bad, is that incomplete articles that do not themselves demonstrate notability clearly enough tend to get deleted, you it would be a very good idea to actually say something more than this. OK, done. Biscuittin (talk) 18:22, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
