Talk:Walter Bradel

[edit] Notability
- strong keep The fact that he was a mere pilot would not make him notable. However, as a recipient of the some of the highest military awards of Germany, especially the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, does make him notable. Secondly he was a commander of KG 2, a major fighting unit, which also makes him notable. MisterBee1966 (talk) 14:02, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- He appears to have a book written about him - Major Walter Bradel : Kampflieger an allen Fronten and the Knight's Cross may count as a "notable award or honor" per WP:BIO, so this probably should be a Keep. I think that this is sufficient to delete the PROD tag
- I was just about to mention that Nigel! I was planning on expanding this information using some other sources. Bradel saw a significant amount of action and was awarded the Knights Cross, which was not "a common" award (I saw your earlier reply to MisterBee1966), considering the millions of other Germans mobilised during the conflict. There are a number of editors that have been working hard to offer a complete coverage on Knights Cross holders, a significant award in a significant war. I feel this deletion would damage that effort. Dapi89 (talk) 22:32, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
