ALINTA WIND FARM AT WALKAWAY The Alinta Wind Farm will be by far the largest renewable energy generator in Western Australia, capable of powering the equivalent of 60,000 homes or in broad terms, all the power consumed by Geraldton in a year. Construction of the 90 Megawatt wind farm is underway near the town of Walkaway in the Shire of Greenough. When complete will have 54 Vestas 1.65 Megawatt Wind Turbines and its own substation. There will also be a carpark, viewing platform and visitor’s area located on Nangetty-Walkaway road to cater for the tourists expected to visit the Alinta Wind Farm. Each year, the green energy produced by the Alinta Wind Farm will displace 400,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions produced by traditional power generation. This is the equivalent of removing 80,000 cars from WA roads each year.
I note that there was a previous edit that included a mention. And one that removed it
