[edit] Farming, mining, Roman information
Please feel free to change, correct or add to the farming, mining, Roman information.
I have added to the article to show Waldridge has mining history which wasn't previously listed. Add more but if substantial, spill/link info over to a page of its own.
Mining info needed |
---|
I don't know dates for the the sealing of the shaft, the uses (or stages of that use/process) of the buildings/area/slag heap in the decades since. |
Did the slag heap run to the north of the shaft too, between the shaft and the current houses? |
Photo of Pit wheel and/or buildings, and also Daisy Hill open cast in progress from the fell to show everyone the extent of change that happened in that location. |
More accurate (if possible) info on the general housing locations through history may be useful. |
Searching the web I also noticed information about a Deanery colliery in the area in the 1700's (apparently not the other Deanery colliery). |
I also noticed information about the colliery school expansion(s). |
More accurate (if possible) info on the general housing locations through history may be useful. Photo of the village and a photo of the fell from a place overlooking it. Need to know about features of the current village, the recent and earlier and also the prior village described to be on the fell. Shops, pubs, churches, cemeteries, leisure facilities and the like and their history. Town facilities such as the hall, school, policeman etc.
Any "actual" Suspected Roman features can be added as links to keep the description to a minimum.
[edit] List of Farms
If you have a farm and access to a computer you can list your farm, or a farm you know/knew details about.
