The Wakura Onsen Resort (Japanese: 和倉温泉) is a resort town on the edge of Nanao, Ishikawa, on the edge of the ocean. It has been rated the best resort in Japan for the last 24 years[citation needed]. It is built around a hot spring (onsen) and has several hot spring baths.

The resort consists of several smaller hotels clustered around the main hotel, Kagaya:

Kinpaso: Contains the Kin (Gold) Bath, tiled with pure gold
• Daikanso: Has an outdoor bath, sauna, and foot bath
• Biwanso: Features a ladies‘ bath inlaid with pearl oysters (also has a men's bath)
• Kaibo: Contains amazing outdoor baths offering fantastic views of Nanao Bay and Notojima island
• Juen: Emphasizes sunsets, with beautiful sunset views from the main bath
• Notoraku: In addition to the main bath, features a sleeping bath, bottle bath, outdoor cypress bath, and two types of saunas

Wakura Onsen has existed as a resort for 1,200 years. It was originally discovered by a traveling priest who noticed an injured crane bathing its wing in the warm water.
