The Wakeman School is a co-educational comprehensive school located in Shrewsbury, the county town of Shropshire, England. The school is the closest secondary school to the town centre, located just to the east of the English Bridge. There are about 600 pupils on roll and the age range is 11-16 years.

The school has recently been awarded the ‘Artsmark Silver’ by Arts Council England,[1] and the developement of a state-of-the-art recording studio for the school is scheduled for the summer holidays. The headteacher, Karen Moore, has supported the move for the co-location of Shrewsbury Sixth Form College and Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology.
