Wake up! WA is Western Australia’s local breakfast program. It airs live on Access 31 from 7 - 8 am (WST) every weekday and is repeated from 10.30 am.
The show is a forum for members of the Western Australian community to discuss the latest matters affecting West Australian life. Guests are often representing charity, community, or sporting organisations. In addition, the show updates on the local news, sport, weather, fuel prices, and current affairs. In 2007 the show is hosted on Mondays and Tuesdays by Edwina Nattrass, 2006 Miss Universe Australia Finalist, and Matt Hern. During the rest of the week Anita Tassone hosts alongside Jason Weeks, a regular host since the shows inception.
[edit] History
Previously known as Wake Up Perth!, it began broadcasting in September 2005. In early 2006, WAke Up Perth!, was nominated for four Antenna Awards, and came away with the award for Best New Producer. By mid 2006, in less than a year, the show surpassed over 300 original episodes, joining only a few locally produced shows that have ever reached this mark this quickly.
