Wakas Mir (Urdu: وقاص میر), is a Pakistani Radio Host mostly noted for his hit radio online show called Wakas Mir LIVE and his band Devotion with Naweed W. Wakas Mir has also been the host for a radio show in Oslo, Norway called ApniAwaz Radio. There he provided his services as an anchor hosting shows on social issues that revolved around Asians in Norway. The shows generated lots of good feedback amongst the community. Wakas left Apniawaz due to his busy schedule.

Performing to a large audience comes natural to Wakas and he had an opportunity to do so when he performed at the Mela 2004 as a part of the group Devotion, where he sang the song composed by him and with music by Naweed, his band member. The group has made a few songs but due to both being busy the songs are still in their rough stage.[1]

Wakas Mir was born in Lahore, Pakistan. He lived in Pakistan until he was 10 years of age and then moved to Norway with his mother and grand mother, to his dad. Being artistically inclined right from childhood, he was always drawn towards anything that required artistic skills or a good voice. Having a drive towards achieving the goals he set for himself he worked towards education in Fine Arts and Civics in Government College University.

Having studied in the same Music academy in college as the famous Pakistan pop star Ali Zafar. Wakas has on various occasion performed with Ali in college functions.

Dabbling in various careers ranging from being a British Gas agent to being a web designer at Dotmusic better known these days as Yahoo music. He finally found that his forte was web designing & currently works as a Project Manager for a Media Company in Oslo, Norway. His interests in the arts also has him honing his skills as a host to the Wakas Mir Live show broadcast through CrazeFM.

Wakas also explored his interests in poetry & has written hundreds of poems in English, Hindi , Punjabi & Urdu. He writes on a variety of subjects ranging from life to emotions, love , relationships & positivity. One can access his poetry in the various online collections. While his English poems have already been published in a collection, his Urdu poems are now being collected to be published.[2]

He has also been quite active when it comes to marketing online. With his marketing skills, he has managed to take the radio station he had launched, CrazeFM, to new heights.[3]. The various methods of replicating the radio streams on the biggest Asian portals gained his website, CrazeFM [4], lots of exposure. His designing skills also came into use in this site. All these that won him the Best and most Popular TV / Radio site [5]

Wakas normally brings up topics in his shows that cause a stir. He has also interviewed some of the biggest names in the Indian TV industry and dozens of top Bollywood singers and celebrities. Below is a list of the very few of the thousands he has done that were well received.

  • Josef Fritzl - Making of the demon - This show was about the guy who made the headline news in May 2008. A talk with Nils Ally made lots of points obvious that the reason behind his "reasoning" was nothing other than what was programmed in Josef since childhood.
  • When color is the reason why a marriage stops - This show touched on the widely prevalent problem of color discrimination existing in Asian community
  • Marriages in different castes - This show covered how castes are seen as reasons by millions of families that make their children stop on their tracks if they fall in love with someone from a different caste.
  • The Halal chicken debate - This one caused a huge stir that made lots of Norwegian Muslims think twice before they purchased chicken that was denoted as Halal

He has also interviewed the top guns of Bollywood, such as Sunil Shetty, Sonu Nigam,Kumar Sanu,Babul Supriyo,Sukhwinder Singh, and many Pakistani celebrities including Abrar ul Haq,Faakhir Mehmood and Haroon from Awaz and many Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television Asia and Star Plus celebrities, mostly those in the leading roles like Mohammad Iqbal Khan of the 'Angad' Fame Hiten Tejwani of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Mona Singh from [[1]], Manav Gohil TV anchor & actor & many more .
