WAJI (95.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Adult Contemporary format. Licensed to Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA, the station serves the Ft. Wayne area. The station is currently owned by Sarkesstarzian,Sinc..[2] WAJI is also the official radio station of the Fort Wayne Flyers.
Every Sunday night, the host of American Idol, Ryan Seacrest, hosts AT40 (American Top 40), the top 40 songs in America. There is also a morning program called "Magic in the Morning", which is hosted by Dirk and Jeannette. It is also stated that the station does not play rap or hard rock music, thus making the station an example of the Hot Adult Contemporary format.
WAJI was known as WPTH throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and in the mid to late 1970s branded themselves as "Rock 95", using TM Productions' "Stereo Rock" reel to reel automation package. The station went live in 1979, and changed calls in 1981 to WFWQ (95Q). 95Q's program director during this era was Mark Elliot. The station mellowed to Adult Contemporary, eventually changing to its current WAJI calls and imaging.
