"Wait (The Whisper Song)" is a noted snap song released by Atlanta crunk rap duo Ying Yang Twins off their album U.S.A. (United State of Atlanta). Consisting of a minimal bass pulse and a few finger-snaps, it featured the Ying Yang Twins toning down their usual loud crunk howls for a new whisper approach. It was a hit single, reaching #15 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song interprets a man whispering sexually explicit messages into a woman's ear. The song and lyrics are somewhat similar to "Play" by David Banner, especially considering that both singles are produced by Mr. Collipark. Both songs were released in 2005 and have whispering including sexually explicit lyrics.
The song was parodied by Akiva Schaffer & Jorma Taccone as members of The Lonely Island sketch comedy group, who are employed as writers on SNL.
The official remix version of the song features Lil Scrappy, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott & Free.
