Waimangu Geyser
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Waimangu Geyser, located near Rotorua in New Zealand, was the most powerful geyser in the world when it was active. The geyser became extinct after a landslide changed the water table in 1904. It is believed to have reached up to 1000 ft in height during an eruption.
In 1903, four tourists were killed after ignoring instructions from the guide to keep their distance.[1]
