Hi,

I'm a newbie here, so please forgive me as I learn.

The travelogue film has a rich culture and history, which has been largely ignored by other film-related discussions. Indeed, the travelogue film was one of the earliest forms of filmmaking. It is, however, a hybrid art form, a combination of filmmaking, lecturing, entertainment, education, and performing art. Travelogue filmmakers make their films almost entirely alone or with a partner, relative, friend or spouse, without the aid of large crews, or, generally speaking, outside funding. They present an overview of a country or region, featuring its industry and culture, and travel around the continent showing their films and presenting them to the audience at a live theatrical event.

I am a former Travel Adventure Film (Travelogue) Artist and I am interested in collaborating on articles relating to the history and culture of this unique and little-understood artform, and the unique, individual film artists who have produced them over the last century and more.
