Wael Riad (Arabic: وائل رياض) (born February 8, 1982) is an Egyptian footballer. He plays the Attacking Midfieldier position for Egypt's club Haras El Hodood. The Egyptian club Haras El Hodood have signed a 1-year loan spell for Riad which start in Summer 2007, from El-Ahly of Egypt.
Riad, who has the nickname 'Cheetos', is one of the most talented players of this Egyptian generation. He is a very fast player, with accurate shots, and outstanding skills. He is famous for breaking the offside traps, and scoring with his rapid movement.

[edit] Club Career with El-Ahly
Riad wore the number 10 shirt and was known for his play as a second half substitute in tough games. In the last two years, he wasn't a regular player in the games with Egypt's African Super Cup Championship club el-Ahly but he participated many times as a substitute as he can change the game with one touch.
Wael Riad had put his prints on the glorious victory of el-Ahly in CAF Champions League 2006, scoring a double-kick goal against Tusker FC of Kenya, in the 'Last 32'-round, in a game ended 3-0 in Cairo. He participated for 20 minutes in the final against CS Sfaxien and made an impact on the game. This tournament was the third African Champions League Riad achieves with Ahly. He was a main reason in achieving CAF Champions League 2001, and appears as a substitute in CAF Champions League 2005. He helped el-Ahly to get the Bronze Medal at the FIFA Club World Cup 2006.
Riad has also participated in memorable friendly matches for El-Ahly, such as a 1-0 victory against Real Madrid in August 2001, a 2-1 victory against AS Roma in August 2002, and a 1-1 draw with Spanish side Real Sociedad in Spain in July 2003, with Riad scoring the tying goal.

Riad transferred to Grazer AK on loan in January 2007. He participated in two friendly matches in February, scoring a goal in each game. Cheetos played 5 matches with Grazer AK's first team between February and April 2007, starting once and scoring no goals.[1]

Wael Riad was a regular player in Egypt's Youth team who got the Bronze Medalist in FIFA World Youth Championship 2001, as Riad scored twice against U.S.A and Finland.
