Wadi Al Seer (Arabic: وادى السير) is a town approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) southwest of the Jordanian capital Amman.[1] Literally "Valley of Orchards", the town is native to the Circassians who settled the area in 1878.[2] Near the center of town are stone Ottoman buildings, left behind from the early 1900s from when the Ottoman Empire controlled the area.[1] 10 kilometers out of Wadi Al Seer are the ruins of the castle Qasr al-Abd as well as Iraq al-Amir, a series of historic caves.[3]
