[edit] Football career
[edit] Wimbledon/MK Dons
Wade Small trained at the Wimbledon F.C. academy and made his debut for the Dons on October 15, 2003 in a 1-0 defeat away at Coventry City. (Note: Wimbledon officially changed their name to Milton Keynes Dons while Small was at the club.)
Small played most of his games for the Dons as a midfielder who could play on either wing, but has also been known to play as a striker.
[edit] Sheffield Wednesday
On May 15, 2006, Small signed for Sheffield Wednesday F.C. for an undisclosed six-figure sum, committing himself to a three-year contract.
On signing Small, former Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock said:
"The potential is there for him to be an exciting player for us and a saleable asset as well. I feel he's got the potential to be great for us and either come with us to the 'Promised Land' or be sold there as the seasons unfold."
Small went on to score his first goal for Sheffield Wednesday when the Owls drew 2-2 with Wolverhampton Wanderers away at the Molineux.
Due to injury, and the signing of Jermaine Johnson, Wade only made 23 appearances in his first season, scoring two goals.
