[edit] Article Needs Major Work

This article needs major surgery. It reads like a press release written by the subject himself and large portions are simply irrelevant (i.e. most of the later sections). Also Khanfar has just been removed from the AJ board of directors by the Qatari government because of alleged connections to the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas so it would seem that there is more to this inidividual than appears here.. I am going to start the reworking my removing the large portions of the article that have absolutely nothing to do with Khanfar and add some material later. Also, I have added the "References Needed" tag to give anopportunity for sourcing the remaining material. If no such sourcing materializes, I may have to start over with some veriable facts.

[edit] I was Wrong

I was wrong about the lack of sources because they seem to have been placed in the External Links section. It will be hard to verifiy the factual statements this way because they are not referenced to specific sources. I will take down the "References Needed" tag but I am going to replace it with the "Neutrality Disputed" tag. Aside from the many "peacock terms", after reviewing the sources I believe the article is only representing Khanfar's point of view with respect to the station's problems with the U.S. This will need major rewriting and I am not sure when I will have the time to do it. Perhaps somebody with knowledge of Al Jazeera can give it a try?

[edit] his editorial beliefs do matter!

As the Director General of one of the most important news networks on the planet, Khanfar's editorial beliefs do matter and form an important part of who he is...therefore, the last section of this description is indeed necessary and contributes to the overall piece. Rumors about Khanfar being a Hamas supporter do not meet the threatshold for inclusion on Wikipedia...once we get some evidence, we should include it in the article. In the mean time, we can't use such meaningless information to dispute the neutrality of this article entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Basher911 (talk • contribs) 12:12, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

It might be appropriate to add a few ligns about what he believes not not paragraph after paragraph. I took out this section again until it can be condensed greatly. Also, I started adding the section about his removal from the board of directors. It needs moe but it is a start.
