Wacker Construction Equipment AG

Wacker Construction Equipment AG, is a German manufacturer of compaction machinery.

The firm was founded in 1848, By Johann Christian Wacker. He opened the WACKER blacksmith's shop in the town of Dresden, Germany. By 1951 the company relocates the head office to Munich. The company floated on the German Frankfurt Stock Exchange in May 2007. They currently turn over €600 million, a year.

In early 2008 Wacker Construction Equipment AG and Neuson Kramer Baumaschinen AG of Austria merged to form Wacker Neuson AG.

The company has been specializing in compaction technology for over 75 years. The merger with Neuson Kramer add a wide range of compact excavators and wheel loaders.
