Wachenheim is a municipality on the German Wine Route in the district of Bad Dürkheim, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Its population is 5,000. It is situated on the eastern edge of the Palatinate forest, approx. 1 km south of Bad Dürkheim and 20 km west of Ludwigshafen. It is well known for its wine or "Sekt"(sparkling wine) production. Its location is 49° 27' N and 8° 11' E. Its elevation is 105 m.

Wachenhiem Caste, or Balcony of Palstinate was created in the 11th or 12th Century. From its peak, you can see the Rhine Valley, Odenwald Forest, and on a clear day, Black Forest.
