WACX is a Christian television station serving Orlando, Florida, licensed to nearby Leesburg. It is locally owned by the Associated Christian Television System, and broadcasts on UHF channel 40, which is a digital signal. WACX formerly had an analog operation on channel 55, this was shut down in March 2006, becoming the first established station in Central Florida to shut down its analog transmitter. The station's schedule consists primarily of locally-produced religious programming. Currently, channel 40 is operating as an independent station.

WACX is technically a commercial station, even though it, as with most religious stations, is viewer supported.

The station's owner, Associated Christian Television System, should not be confused with American Christian Television Services, owners of WTLW in Lima, Ohio.

Until September 2006, WACX was affiliated with TBN. This affiliation ceased after TBN acquired its own station in the market.

[edit] Relays

WACX operates four low-power translators and satellites that rebroadcast channel 40's programming. Two of them are located in the Tallahassee market, the third serves the Lakeland area, part of the Tampa Bay market, and the fourth serves the Gainesville area.

  • W03AO channel 3 Madison
  • WACX-LP channel 9 Tallahassee
  • WLWA-LP channel 14 Lakeland
  • W69AY channel 69 Alachua

In addition, channel 40's programming is streamed on its website.

At one point, WACX controlled the SuperChannel TBN channel on the Sky Angel religious satellite service, but this was replaced with the national TBN service in 2006.
