- The Wachovia Center sits on the site previously occupied by the Philadelphia Municipal Stadium which was built in 1925 for the 1926 Sesquicentennial Exposition. (The facility was renamed JFK Stadium in 1964.) The area it occupied (bordered by Broad Street, Pattison Avenue, Terminal Avenue, and 11th Street) was originally known as East League Island Park.Centpacrr (talk) 19:39, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
