Ornette! is an album by American jazz musician Ornette Coleman, originally released in 1968 by Atlantic Records.
Coleman is joined on this album by regular sidemen Don Cherry on trumpet and Ed Blackwell on drums, as well as bassist Scott LaFaro. All three had previously appeared on the pioneering Free Jazz... album, recorded only around a month before Ornette!, with Cherry and LaFaro in the left channel quartet alongside Coleman, and Blackwell in the right.
The title of each track is derived from the works of psychoanalysis pioneer Sigmund Freud.[1]
