W. S. Stuckey, Jr.

Williamson Sylvester Stuckey, Jr. (born May 25, 1935, in Eastman, Georgia, United States) is a former Democratic Party United States Congressman and a businessman.

Stuckey graduated from Woodward Academy in 1952 and the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens with a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in 1956 and a Juris Doctor in 1959.

He was President of the family chain of pecan and nut stores, Stuckey's from 1958 until 1966. In 1967 he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and for five consecutive terms. In 1972, he defeated a determined bid waged by Ronnie Thompson, the Republican mayor of Macon. Stuckey did not seek reeelection in 1976 but instead returned to business, when his family re-purchased the Stuckey's Corporation from Pet, Incorporated. He is now serving as Chairman of the Board of Stuckey's.
