W. S. Bates

W.S. "Billy" Bates was a college football coach. In 1903, he served as the head football coach at Auburn, where he compiled a 4-3 record. From 1905 to 1908, he coached at Wichita State, where he compiled a 28-8-3 record. His overall record as a coach was 32-11-3.
